Overview


We will have guest speakers Greg and Colette Ramm. Greg is an RPCV and is the Country Director for Save the Children in DR Congo. Colette is the co-founder of Reve Kandale, one of the organizations that we have supported in the past few years. After hearing from them both, and some Q and A, we will have a couple breakout groups for socializing. Mark your calendars and hope to see you there! Their more complete bios are below:


Colette Madishi Ramm grew-up in Kandale, DRC. She served as head of the Peace and Reconciliation Commission for North and South Kivu regions in Eastern Congo during the Mai-Mai Uprising (1997-1998). From 2001-2008, Colette worked with the United Nations in Kosovo, Kenya and Senegal. She holds a master's degree in International Community Economic and Development from New Hampshire College in Manchester, N.H. In 2010, she founded REVE Kandale and in 2016, she co-founded REVE Kandale Foundation with her husband, Greg Ramm. Colette and her husband Greg Ramm are currently stationed in Kinshasa, DRC. Colette is fluent in English, French, Kikongo, Lingala, Swahili with working knowledge of Tshiluba.


Greg Ramm is Country Director for Save the Children in the DR Congo, based in Kinshasa, and a member of the DRC's Humanitarian Country Team (HCT). He has over 30 years of experience in humanitarian and development issues, with a strong focus on Africa. He opened Save the Children's first office in Kinshasa in 1998. Since then, Greg has held various key positions, including Country Director in Ghana, Regional Director for West and Central Africa, Global Program Director in London, and Vice President, Humanitarian Response in Washington, DC. In 2014, Greg led the Save the Children response to the Ebola crisis in Liberia as Interim Country Director. He served as a member of the IASC's Emergency Directors Group from 2016 to 2020. Prior to joining Save the Children, Greg worked on affordable housing and community development issues in the US and was a Peace Corps Volunteer in the DRC (then Zaire). He holds a B.A. in Computer Science from Dartmouth College.
